Dana Marcine writes from the heart, and sings, with enchanting voice, the moments that have inspired her. 'So Unexpected' references Dana's serendipitous journey from artful singer of beloved jazz standards, to singer/songwriter with a unique perspective. The eight original compositions include emotional ballads, songs of introspection, and tunes that celebrate the best of life. Rounding out the recording, are four cover songs from the standards repertoire, newly arranged by renown pianist/producer Vinnie Martucci. The album's collaboration with stellar musicians, further completes and creates the pure magic.

This cd marks a significant "crossing" from vocalist to singer/songwriter for the artist who is listed as one of the up and coming new voices of jazz. The original songs touch a wide variety of themes and emotions, from letting go of old boyfriends to enjoying a day being lazy by the lake.
